Netflix’s Top 10 Most Watched Movies

'Army Of The Dead'

The zombie-filled Netflix-original film Army Of The Dead from writer and director Zack Snyder centers on a group of mercenaries who, following a zombie apocalypse, take the biggest gamble Las Vegas has ever seen and try to pull off a major heist in the center of the quarantine zone of the city. Starring Dave Bautista, Tig Notaro, Ella Purnell and more, Army of the Dead is set to be not only one of the top movies new on Netflix this month but also the streaming platform’s big summer blockbuster film.

'Who Killed Sara?'

Who Killed Sara? is a new Netflix thriller from creator José Ignacio Valenzuela that follows Alex Guzmán (Leo Deluglio), man who was framed for the murder of his sister, Sara.

“Like most shows of this type, the possibilities seem endless. But it also seems like it could quickly get out of narrative control. So many characters, so many conflicts and dramas…. it’s hard to maintain. We’ll see if some of the logic holes we have right now get closed up during the ten-episode first season … Who Killed Sara? has a few logic problems, but its overall vibe is energetic enough, with good performances, to keep viewers’ attention,” writes Decider’s Joel Keller.

'The Woman in the Window'

Amy Adams stars in this psychological thriller as an agoraphobic, alcoholic and all-around mentally unstable therapist who watches her picture-perfect neighbors live their lives behind the curtains of her windows. But when she witnesses what she believes to be a murder next door, she becomes all-consumed with the crime and slips further and further into obsession. Based on the acclaimed novel of the same name, The Woman in the Window is a mind-bending film starring Julianne Moore, Gary Oldman, Anthony Mackie, Wyatt Russell and more.

'Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous'

This Netflix original animated series hails from executive producers Steven Spielberg, Colin Trevorrow and Frank Marshall. Scott Kreamer and Aaron Hammersley serve as EP/showrunners. The eight-episode toon from Universal Pictures, DreamWorks Animation and Amblin Entertainment is based on the multibillion-dollar film franchise, following a group of six teenagers chosen for a once-in-a-lifetime experience at a new adventure camp on the opposite side of Isla Nublar. When dinosaurs wreak havoc across the island, the campers are unable to reach the outside world and quickly go from strangers to friends to family as they band together to survive.

5

'The Upshaws'

The Upshaws follows a working-class Black family in Indiana as they strive for a happy home, amidst juggling plenty of other problems. This comedy series features Mike Epps, Wanda Sykes, and Kim Fields as loving family members just trying to make everything work.

“Sykes created The Upshaws with sitcom veteran Regina Hicks (Girlfriends, Insecure, Sister Sister), and the show’s retro feel is likely on purpose,” writes Decider’s Joel Keller. “There is a need for a sitcom that features a Black, middle-class family that doesn’t necessarily cater to kids.”

6

'The Mitchells vs. The Machines'

The Mitchells vs. The Machines is an animated original family movie about a dysfunctional family (with a queer lead protagonist) who saves the world from a robot uprising. While it may seem like action-packed sci-fi on the surface, there’s plenty of cuteness and a heart-warming emotional thread about the meaning of family throughout. The hilarious voice cast features talented comedians such as Abbi Jacobson, Danny McBride, Maya Rudolph, and Eric Andre, and the film was produced by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, as well as directed by Mike Rianda, who co-wrote the script with Jeff Rowe.

7

'Cocomelon'

Cocomelon, a children’s YouTube channel, has made its way to Netflix. The full first season of the preschool programming is now available to stream, which means parents now have three hour-long episodes to entertain their kids and teach them new skills. Cocomelon isn’t all fun and games — it also educates children on numbers, letters and animals, using nursery rhymes and song to teach each lesson.

'Jupiter's Legacy'

Jupiter’s Legacy is the latest Netflix original superhero series to hit the platform and its big-screen special effects are not to be missed. In the eight-episode series, Marvel presents plenty of mysteries to solve and around 100 years of continuity to explore. The show, which is an adaptation of the book by Mark Millar and Frank Quitely, takes us back to the dawn of the first-ever superheroes and follows the now-aging heroes as they look to pass the mantle (and their powers) to their children. The children — in typical next-generation fashion — want to do things a bit differently as they struggle to uphold the legacies left behind by their parents.

'StartUp'

StartUp first premiered on Crackle in 2016,  but it’s getting a new life thanks to Netflix. The drama follows a new cryptocurrency called GenCoin that links three unlikely strangers together in a corrupt mission to make money while an FBI agent tries to hunt them down.

“StartUp is a perfectly fine show with an eye towards the increasing power of cryptocurrency, but it’s also hampered by some dated stylistic choices,” writes Decider’s Meghan O’Keefe.

10

'Sabotage'

Sabotage follows a crack team of DEA agents who begin plotting a wild heist: they’re going to try to make off with $10 million in drug money. Unfortunately, before they can get there, they’ll have to fight off an unknown killer. This action/adventure film stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sam Worthington, and Olivia Williams, and it’s directed by Suicide Squad‘s David Ayer.
